+ Tech-Air® 5 is a slim, fully self-contained wearable airbag vest and standalone system; no external sensors are required for the System to operate.
+ Provides upper body airbag coverage on back, shoulders, chest, and ribs.
+ Can be worn with any Alpinestars’ Tech-Air® Ready jacket, or any properly fitting textile or leather motorcycling jacket with 4 cm of space around the circumference of the rider’s upper body to accommodate the inflation of the airbag in the event of a deployment. + The Tech-Air® 5 system, when inflated, offers the same protection as that provided by 18 CE certified Level 1 back protectors.
+ Main chassis constructed from a lightweight mesh fabric with extensive mesh throughout for optimum levels of comfort and high levels of breathability.
+ Perforated zone on the back protector for enhanced airflow and improved breathability.
+ Specially developed internal air channels on interior of the vest’s back for additional airflow performance.
+ Magnetic zip closure for ease of use and a secure closure.
+ LED display on front hem indicates the airbag’s operational status.
+ Robust internal housing located in the built-in CE-certified Nucleon back protector accommodates the system’s ECU and gas canisters.
+ Back protector features an ergonomic plate construction for structural strength and a fit to follow the natural contours of the back.
+ Comes equipped with Bluetooth connectivity with the free Tech Air® App to show system and battery status, and MyRide trip mapping information.
+ Tech-Air®’s ECU is seal-protected within vest to ensure the all-weather performance and the vest and componentry are certified to function between -10°C and 50°C. (-14°F and 122°F)
+ ECU has been homologated to ECE R10 04 which ensures the electromagnetic integrity and stability of the unit.
+ Tech-Air® uses an integrated, certified lithium-ion battery, with a battery life of 30 hours and a recharge time of approximately 4 hours.
+ Argon inflator cartridges are CE certified to ISO 14451 standard, meaning that they will only fire if commanded by the electronic unit. It also certifies that the cartridges can be safely handled, assembled, and transported.
+ System’s software is easily and conveniently upgradable via the free Tech-Air® App, and an external service record will be managed by Service Centers via the Tech-Air® Data Portal.
+ The Tech-Air® 5 System is considered Category 2 Personal Protective Equipment under EU Regulation 2016/425, using a version of EN1621-4:2013, which guarantees impact protection performance from 25 – 40 milliseconds, depending on the Airbag System size to over 5 seconds of full pressure inflation.
